Separate from from the Tuesday evening meetings there are other groups who meet once or more a month as follows.
This, as the name implies, is a group for those members who wish to produce AV presentations and would like some help and advice or perhaps just to discuss ideas. Meetings are held at 19:30 hrs. on the last Thursday evening of each month at Grove Green Community Hall, Penshurst Close, Grove Green, Maidstone, ME14 5BT (adjacent to Tesco).
This group meets at 19:30 hrs. on the third Thursday evening of each month at Madginford Small Hall to provide help and instruction with most areas relating to digital photography and the presentation of images for display in competitions and exhibitions. including some practical evenings where you can use your camera.
This group meets at 19:30 hrs. on the fourth Wednesday evening of each month at Madginford Small Hall to give members the opportunity to develop their portraiture skills guided by the help and instruction available from more experienced members.
This group meets at 20:00 hrs. on the first Thursday evening of each month at the Bearsted & Thurnham, King Edward V Memorial Hall, Manor Rise, Bearsted, ME14 4DB. We are hoping for ideas on how this group will progress, Organizing days out, help with all camera setting, best camera gear to buy, software options, places to go, help with images for competitions. etc.
Historic Photo Group
Arising from the Club members’ digitising of several thousand glass plates held by Maidstone Museum (and subsequently various other museums and private collections) this group requires volunteers willing to take photographs from the locations used to take the original glass plate images. This involves, in most cases, some research finding these locations. Once taken, the new image can then be placed alongside the original, together with any interesting information that is gathered, on the Kent Photo Archive web-site. For more detail contact the club
Further Details for each group are available from any committee member on Club evenings.
